Washinoki Stone Circle Site

The Washinoki Stone Circle site located in Morimachi Hokkaido is one of the World Heritage Jomon Prehistoric Sites in Northern Japan. It has a diameter roughly 35m across and dates back approximately 4000 years to the Late Jomon period. The site was discovered during highway construction and it was decided to dig a tunnel beneath the site, a major undertaking.
