More model informationAn incomplete, copper alloy Roman brooch of the Wirral type. The pin, top of the head plate, part of the spring, and part of the catch plate are missing.
The head is 9.96mm wide. The remaining section of the head plate is rounded at one end and roughly rectilinear at the other in plan. There are two semi-circular perforated lugs on the underside. Between the lugs is the spring (three coils surviving) that is on an axis bar in a hollowed part of the head. At the top of the head, there are the remnants of a truncated integral chain-loop.
