Stone on M.O.D land, near West Loups, N of Cotherstone, County Durham.
This stone sits to the W of the denuded West Loups’s farm. Referenced 5 in ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale’ and ‘Lou 9d’ in ‘Prehistoric Rock Art in the Northern Dales’ publications, this rock was added to ERA as ‘West Loups’s 4’ in 2008. Stan Beckensall draws 2 cups with rings and 2 cups with arcs, whilst NADRAP noted a single cup and ring and another cup.
On this model 2 cups appear to have rings.
