Wild Boar Tusk Trinket (Excavated from Irie Shell Mound: Late Jomon Period, approx. 4,000 years ago)

This accessory was made from the tusks of a wild boar, which does not live in Hokkaido. The boar is thought to have been brought in from Honshu. It resembles the shape of a human tooth, and when it was excavated, it was covered with bengara (red pigment).... This is the only place where such a shape has been found.

北海道には生息しないイノシシの牙で作られたアクセサリーです。イノシシは本州から持ち込まれたものと考えられます。人の歯の形に似ていおり、発掘された時は、ベンガラ（赤い顔料）が付着していたとか…。このような形のものは、ここでしか見つかっていません。
