More model informationThe 217 ft schooner Richard Winslow was built in 1871 as the first four-masted schooner on the Great Lakes. After serving 19 years as a schooner, in 1891 it was reduced to a schooner barge. On its last day in service, it was being towed by the Steamer Inter-Ocean when it sprang a leak and foundered in shallow water off White Shoals Lake Michigan west of the Straits. It was flattened with explosives in 1902. The model was created from 2,211 30-megapixel images shot by Ken Merryman on a DPV dive in the 2023 season.
