An incomplete Roman Roman copper-alloy Hod Hill brooch dating to the 1st century AD. The piece is T-shaped in plan and has been flattened. It is missing the pin and one of bow knops. The top of the head consists of a trapezoidal shaped section with a small knob on the reverse where it has broken from the pin. There is a rectangular section on the bottom half of the head which is decorated with two transverse grooves. Below this is the bow which has been flattened and has rounded knops projecting from the middle of either side, only one of which survives. The foot is below the bow which is rectangular in shape and narrows towards the bottom. It has been decorated with four transverse grooves. The catch plate projects from the reverse of the foot. It is narrow, curved and L-shaped in cross section.
