Medieval cross [base], 150m west of Woodburnhill Farm, East Woodburn, Northumberland, is a Scheduled Monument (List Entry 1008423). The base of a medieval wayside cross is situated on a knoll alongside an old way now used as a public footpath. The stone base is sandstone and is sub-rectangular in shape measuring 0.53m by 0.74m; it is embedded in the ground but stands to a height of 0.2m above ground level. There is a central socket hole 0.3m by 0.24m and 0.11m deep. The position of the rectangular socket hole suggests that the cross was positioned to be visible from the east or the west, that is, from the old way along which it is situated. https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1008423
