More model informationA large Ancient Egyptian wooden funerary hawk, period unknown, with pigment remnant in a pale blue. The hawk rests on a large base which is carved from the same piece of wood as the hawk.
Excavated at the Temple of Mentuhotep, Deir el-Bahri between 1903 and 1907 by Henri Édouard Naville (1844-1926) and Charles Trick Currelly (1876-1957) for the Egypt Exploration Fund, London.
