More model informationWorked timber recovered from a palaeochannel fill within a peat layer at approximately 1.5m below the current land surface. The timber is a maximum of 1m long, 0.42m wide and 0.2m broad. There are signs of working or wear on several faces, notably about 10 notches about 250-300mm apart on one side, and a deep groove with more widely spaced finer cuts on the other Location: Boxford, West Berkshire, adjacent to water meadows of the River Lambourn, c SU 42647167.
