This mug was one of four designs issued by the Signal & Telecommunications Engineering Department of British Rail after the Clapham Junction Disaster in 1988. It is printed with a new definition of work ‘NOW DEFINED AS INCLUDING ANY ENGINEERING OR TECHNICAL ACTIVITY INCLUDING WALKING PATROLLING, INSPECTING AND EXAMINING’.
