Zen Garden at Zuihoin Temple (Daitokuji), Kyoto, Japan

Zuihoin is a popular Zen Garden designed by the prominent landscape architect and artist, Shigemori Mirei.

This a partial model of a much larger capture of the garden which will be featured in our Nuit Blanche Kyoto 2016 Virtual Reality Exhibition.

Through cooperation with the head priest we were given access to capture extensive photogrammetry data as well as laser scans using the FARO Focus3D. We will be updating this model as we assemble the remaining data.

This capture represents just one example of our extensive goal of using 3D modeling and VR for cultural preservation and exposure in Kyoto, and Japan as a whole.

瑞峯院・独坐邸 京都北区にある、臨済宗大徳寺派の寺院。独坐邸は重森三玲氏により、１９６１年に作庭されました。 ２０１６年ニュイ・ブランシェに展示された作品の一部です。お和尚さんの協力を得て、フォトグラメトリー用撮影を行った同時にFARO Focus3Dを使い、レーザースキャンをしました。このキャプチャーは、３DモデルとVRを利用し京都の文化保存をする、一つの事例です。
