Addressing key knowledge gaps essential for the success and cost-effectiveness of reef restoration interventions
Torres Strait -- Masig Reef 3D Models
The Australian Institute of Marine Science’s (AIMS) Ecological Intelligence for Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program (EcoRRAP) quantifies natural rates of ecological and genetic reef recovery and adaptation in response to acute and chronic disturbances and key environmental variables. This information is used to inform restoration interventions of RRAP, a collaboration across many research institutes and experts managed by AIMS.
This collection contains the models from images taken across different habitats on Masig Reef, in the Torres Strait, Great Barrier Reef, Australia, during April 2021, 2022, and 2023.
These models were created using EcoRRAP's photogrammetry standard procedures for taking images to reconstruct three-dimensional (3D) models over extents of 75 square meters with high precision in temporal co-registration (aims.gov.au/research-topics/monitoring-a...)
