This collection displays fossils of marine life which would be prevalent during the early Jurassic period to the late Jurassic period. Certain species such as the Ichthyosaur first appeared in the late Triassic period and survived until the early Cretaceous period. The Jurassic period saw the rise of mollusks and marine life which would help sustain coral reef ecosystems, and as such, bivalves and such invertebrates make up a large portion of the collection. The Jurassic period also saw the arrival of the first true crab and lobster species. While it would have been great to have included such fossils in the collection, unfortunately not too many remain intact.

The collection further includes larger marine species such as the Thalattosuchus, Squaloraja, and the Temnodontosaurus to illustrate how diverse the marine population would have been during the Jurassic period. These species would have been carnivorous marine hunters and preyed on invertebrates living close to the ocean floor or within more open seas.
