As part of a collaboration with the National Park Service and the Southeast Archeological Center NPS (Cooperative Ecosystems Studies Unit, Piedmont South Atlantic), we utilized 3D terrestrial laser scanning, aerial LiDAR, and GPS to survey and 3D map the terrain and surrounding environs at Ocmulgee National Landmark to assist with a repatriation project. In addition to the mapping efforts to support repatriation, we also 3D laser scanned and surveyed the Earth Lodge structure and 3D digitized several artifacts to support museum conservation and interpretation initiatives in the park. The lead 3D Specialist is Jorge Gonzalez with PIs Drs. Lori Collins and Travis Doering. NPS ATR Dr. Margo Schwadron.
