Tilt Brush adds direct Sketchfab export

Back to overview

We’re happy to announce that the latest version of Google’s VR painting app Tilt Brush has added direct ‘from VR’ export to Sketchfab. You no longer need to track down the locally saved version of the file that you exported.

The process is super simple:

  1. In Tilt Brush, select ‘Upload’ and then click Sketchfab Sign in.
  2. Take off your VR headset and complete the sign-in process on your desktop – a browser window will be waiting for you. If your browser is already signed in to Sketchfab, you only need to allow Tilt Brush to use it.
  3. Enter VR again and return to the Upload menu. Your Sketchfab username and avatar will now show. Click them to upload your model.
  4. On the desktop, you will now see your Sketchfab model. Wait for it to complete processing, add a title and description, apply some tweaks in the 3D editor as needed and publish it!

The Tilt Brush team writes:

You sign in to your Sketchfab account through a web browser, click a couple of buttons in Tilt Brush, and your sketch is viewable and shareable on Sketchfab. It’s an equal combination of easy and fancy.

We couldn’t agree more. We’re also happy and proud to have our first native integration in a Google product!

But there’s more!

This release also packs some new exciting features like Camera Paths and support for .glb / .gltf files in the Media Library. See the full release notes here.
