More model informationThis netsuke is made in a large circular form in a manjû shape that is intricately carved. A manjû is a Japanese confection and its shape was often used for netsuke forms. This example illustrates the final episode of the famous Chushingura story that tells how the forty- seven masterless samurai (ronin) avenged their dead master. Here we see the loyal ronin storming of the house of their dead master’s enemy.
