More model informationThis is a Clovis blade precore circa 11,000 BC. A nodule of flint was flaked to this specific form to allow long narrow flakes (blades) to be struck from it. A flaking mistake ruined it, but this preserved the early stage of manufacture. It is only one of a very few that have been found and represents some of the earliest evidence of people in the Americas. It is from the Gault Site in Central Texas.
