More model informationThese petroglyphs were made by the pre- Paitue or Shoshone peoples who have live here since the ice age. Extensive agriculture was done here and these glyphs might be a map of the fields and irrigation. Keeping track of the seasons, sky, and moons was part of the purpose of this place. Three circle with crosses within them are likely to represent Orion as it is repeated and even point to their November rise point in the East. Some of the circles with lines in them sometimes have lines extending downward like rain, and they might represent sky conditions, even constellations.
