More model informationThis ceramic figurine is from the archaeological site of Ocmulgee, in Macon Georgia. The piece was discovered broken, with the head and body portions located in different provenance, or locations. The piece has been “digitally cross-mended” or digitally restored, using 3D laser scan data collected along with 3D modeling techniques (OCMU catalog no. 40). The piece was found near a slave burial and could represent an heirloom item brought from Africa. Archaeologists recovered the pieces as part of excavation work at the site during the construction of the park visitor center.
