WWII - Parachute Mine - Underwater Diver Find
In 2009 Andy Jackson of subseatv and renowned underwater filmmaker found a WWII bomb while diving on a unknown shipwreck off Whitby. Originally identified by the Imperial War Museum as a 500kg German Luftmine A (LMA) Mine Type D, made of an aluminium alloy.
Now in 2017, new technology has been used to reconstruct the scene in 3D to allow a greater level of interaction to be achieved from old video. The YouTube version can be found here https://youtu.be/7F_Qh30w23o
Andy Jackson of Subseatv says “I find it incredible that a video I shot more than a decade ago can be used to create such a superb and detailed interactive model.”
