A model made after the second level Crusader weapon in Darkest Dungeon.
This is the first in a series of Darkest Dungeon weapons (and maybe armor), that I want to use to get myself back into modeling again.
Self critique:
This is meant to be a two-handed sword, but the proportions are a bit off for that. A possible fix would be to make the hand guard and the blade a bit less wide. BUT, since I know myself and know that I tend to be a perfectionist and never get things done, I am uploading it now.
Things learned:
1.) Unwrapping multiple single objects/meshes onto one UV coordinate system is a pain in Blender. Also the assistive tools for that only work in Blender Render mode, not in Cycles. In the future, I will probably just join all objects together, unwrap them and then split them back apart again, if need be.
2.) Using an ID map from vertex colors might be easier to use than different materials in Blender, which are then converted to texture sets in Substance. I will try that for the next sword.
