Here is another little project I did. This is the Remington 1858 used in the civil war and in western times I believe. Fun fact during the civil war they used to carry multiple of these guns as the reload took so long haha.
It was very challenging to model as it was a mix of organic curves and hard surfaces but I learned allot. This is not 100% true to the proportions of the original gun, I used a bit of references for sizes but I strayed away from that a bit (for example the barrel is a bit longer but I am fine with that). I probably should have spent more time reducing the poly count for the low poly but I got a little excited to get a texture on this thing haha.
Textures were done in substance painter and the floral patterns were all hand drawn onto the model.
