I’d had a thought of making a real honest to goodness diorama, something with tin toys, and wargame terrain. I think I got close to what was in my head at least, and it was a fun learning experience. Plus, I felt this represented a fairly common thing in WoT… people getting shot from all over, a sneaky tank destroyer ambush, and of course, the artillery shelling. Always with the artillery shelling.
Not how I’d envisioned it, but a mix of time and inexperience forced some concessions and I’m fairly happy with it, given the circumstances. The explosions weren’t how I wanted, but making cotton ball explosions proved to be way beyond me… still the plastic “light” look I went with was fun.
The tin toy tanks worked better than expected though, and I was pleasently surprised by the fairly accurate way they catch the light, and the river proved to be a fairly nice representation of that plastic you use to replicate water in a model kit.
