More model informationThis panel is part of a group of several panels in Knock (Monreith, Dumfries and Galloway), located on the top of a knoll. The carvings are difficult to see in situ, particularly due to the carving technique applied. The grooves were not deepened or smoohed on the inside. These cup-and-ring motifs were instead made through a sequence of very small cup-marks forming the rings. In addition to this, the rock itself is also relatively weathered, which has affected the engravings. (The numbering given to the rock follows that of Van Hoek 1995).
