EN: Part of the moving upper mechanism of a wooden ship’s pump, situated higher up in the pump tube. Fitted with a piece of leather that only flaps upward. Part of the pumping system, allowing for bilgewater to be pumped up. Dimensions: height 43 cm, diameter 6,54 cm. Kept at the Dutch National Maritime Archaeological Depot at Museum Batavialand. Excavated from shipwreck OH48, found on lot H48 near Swifterbant in the province of Flevoland, the Netherlands. Wreck date: 1888.

NL: Onderdeel van het bewegende deel van een houten scheepspomp, gesitueerd hoger in de pompbuis. De leren klep kan enkel omhoog open slaan. Onderdeel van het pompsysteem waarmee buiswater omhoog gehaald wordt. Afmetingen: hoogte: 43 cm, diameter: 6,54 cm. Nationaal Scheepsarcheologisch Depot, Museum Batavialand.
