Larkhill Camp, Army Basing Programme Burial3D Model
This inhumation burial was revealed during archaeological investigations within Larkhill Camp, Wiltshire in 2017. The investigations were undertaken as part of the planned re-development works within the Camp, in association with the Army Basing Programme. The burial contained no artefacts or ‘grave goods’, hence the date of the burial is currently uncertain. The location and the type of burial however, indicate that the grave most probably dates to the prehistoric period. Radiocarbon dating of a sample of bone will enable a more precise date to be established. The position of the individual within the grave is unusual, in that it appears to have been placed face down (prone) in a small grave. Osteological analysis will assess the age and biological sex of the individual, as well as helping to gain an insight into the health and lifestyle of the person
