More model information3D model of a piece of carved bone that was part of a medieval comb, probably from the 12th or 13th century. The teeth of the comb were spaced very close together – perhaps to help with removing lice. It is made of bone and is double-sided. It was excavated from a midden (i.e., refuse heap) on the island of Eilean Mor in Loch Finlaggan on Islay (in Western Scotland). [Original Object: 54mm x 25mm] Part of the Lords of the Isle – 15th-Century Finlaggan reconstruction.
