More model informationSt Cybi’s Well is situated in a secluded woodland near Llangybi (Llyn peninsula, North Wales). The remains of a 18th or 19th century ruined stone building stand guard over an ancient well. The building consists of are a pair of well chambers plus an adjoining caretaker’s cottage.
St Cybi’s Well is one of many holy wells scattered throughout Wales, many of which were thought to have curative powers. It seems probably that many wells were of pagan origin, and were only much later attributed to Christian saints. St Cybi is reputed to have lived in the area in the 6th century.
