More model informationThe phrase “poor swallower” is due in Austria to the forestry master builder Philipp Schlucker. Between 1782 and 1787, during the period Emporer Josef II., Schlucker built the 22-kilometer-long wall around the Lainzer Tiergarten for one-sixth of the price of his rivals from Vienna. Due to the low price, the Viennese population feared that the architect from Alland would go bankrupt. One spoke therefore of the poor swallower. He finished the wall properly. The satisfied Kaiserhaus renounced him the title “Waldamt’s master builder”.
