More model informationOn January 15th, 1882, the British cargo ship SS Lanarkshire, on voyage from Clyde to Lisbon with a cargo of coal, foundered on Codling Bank. The sail and steam cargo ship was built in 1871 by Blackwood and Gordon Glasgow and was last owned by Burrell and Sons, Glasgow. The wreck remains in a substantial condition of construction from its stem along its 62m to stern. It is located just over 12km from the Wicklow coast in position 53°6‘20.572”N, 5°51‘34.849”W. It lies in a very strong tidal stream on shale in roughly 11m of water. Visibility is generally good and is a very nice dive as substantial amount of the wreck is left with a lot of the equipment visible, boilers and super structure.
A fleet sister of Lanarkshire.
