More model information

EN: The lower end of a 17th century wooden ship’s (burr)pump tube. Through the gaps at the bottom bilgewater could be sucked upward. The crosses, while tempting to interpret as Amsterdam city markings, are thought to be imprints, caused in the past by an unsuitable storage crate. Dimensions: length: 32 cm. Kept at the Dutch National Maritime Archaeological Depot at Museum Batavialand. Excavated from shipwreck OU86, found near Biddinghuizen in the province of Flevoland, the Netherlands.

Afmetingen: lengte: 32 cm. Nationaal Scheepsarcheologisch Depot, Museum Batavialand. Afkomstig van wrak OU86, ondergangsdatering: ca. 1625. Zie voor meer informatie: https://mass.cultureelerfgoed.nl/ou86.
