In Greek mythology, Meleager was a hero venerated in his temenos at Calydon in Aetolia. Meleager was the son of Althaea and the vintner Oeneus and, according to some accounts father of Parthenopeus and Polydora. The hero stands with his dog at his side, holding a spear with which, according to the myth, he has killed the Calydonian boar. The many extant copies show that the statue reproduces a famous Greek work from around 340 B.C.

@scottbreton Thanks you very much! This is always appreciated. I also like this model. The pose and the style give something special. And lost part somehow improve the overall look of the sculpture.
This is one of the more beautiful classical contrapposto torsos I've come across - great balance of stylisation and naturalism. This is an example where the loss of the limbs has seemed to add something (though I think we would all like to have seen the complete sculpture) And very well captured in your scan - thanks for making and posting!
You are welcome!
Thank you.
@ssh4 Thanks! I noticed this weird email already on another one model. This is really weird to post such pishing/scam email on this website. What do they expect seriously? XD XD :)
