More model informationThe Castle of Chinchilla is a castle located in Chinchilla de Monte-Aragón, Spain. It was declared Bien de Interés Cultural in 1931.
In the 15th century, Juan Pacheco, Marquis of Villena, restored a castle of Arab origin, “Xerif El-Edrisi”.
In the walls of this construction, the coat of arms of the Marquis of Villena can still be seen. The castle was formed by great steep walls and had 6 corners with towers cut into them. Around it was a moat 16 metres deep. Remains of the wall can still be seen, as can the Keep, altered in the 19th century, and the Diablos y Tiradores Gate.
