This is most probably my father, Jesse Boyce Holleman's, TBM. He shot down and crashed in June 1945 at Garapan. He was the only survivor. His radioman and gunner were never seen again. Dad was a Mare Island Hospital for some 18 months for his burns. He and my brother Tim traveled to Saipan in 1990 to locate the plane, only to miss it by some 75 yards. This is the only TBM in the area and must be dad's. He was a torpedo bomber pilot on the U.S.S. Gambier Bay Carrier, sank later in the Battle of Leyete Gulf in October 1945.
That is rather awesome! It must have taken some skill & patience to remove all the temporal artefacts from the dataset; great job!
