More model informationThis bas relief decorates the stairs of the Palais de la Bourse in Lyon, France, was sculpted by André Vermare in 1907. It represents Lyon’s two rivers intertwined : the Rhône river is pictured as a powerful man swimming against current, and the Saône river comes to life as a woman swimming under the Rhône. The Saône flows into the Rhône in Lyon, at a place called the Confluence, which hosts the brand new Musée des Confluences .
