EN: A leather shoe with decorative cuts. Restored, but the heel parts are missing. The inside was filled up for support. Dimensions: length 25,5 cm, width 10,5 cm. Kept at the Dutch National Maritime Archaeological Depot at Museum Batavialand. Excavated from shipwreck Burgzand Noord 3 (BZN3), thought to be the remains of Dutch East-Indiaman the ‘Rob’, found in the Dutch Wadden Sea near Texel, the Netherlands. Wreck date: 1640.

NL: Een leren schoen met inkepingen ter versiering. Gerestaureerd, maar delen van de hiel ontbreken. Van binnen opgevuld ter ondersteuning. Afmetingen: lengte 25,5 cm, breedte 10,5 cm. Nationaal Scheepsarcheologisch Depot, Museum Batavialand. Afkomstig van scheepswrak Burgzand Noord 3 (BZN3), dat vermoedelijk VOC-schip de ‘Rob’ is geweest (https://www.vocsite.nl/schepen/11846/), ondergangsdatering: 1640.
