More model informationThis partial bone artifact is a peg-topped pin with tail-feather motif made from a deer long bone. It was recovered from archaeological excavations at the Anderson Mound (Jungle Prada Complex) in St. Petersburg, Florida where it was dated to between the 14th and 16th centuries AD. Similar artifacts have been found with a circular perforated piece of bone that fits over the peg. It is speculated that these composite pins were meant to hold feathers.
