Kerbstone 5 is located on the outer edge of the largest megalithic tomb at Knowth, County Meath, Ireland (ME019-030001-). The stone is carved on its main face (which faces into the passage) and also on its top face. On the main face there is a clockwise spiral, flanked with C-shaped motifs. Within each C-shaped motif there is a rectangle. On the top-right of the stone are a row of 7 small circles. On the top-left is a small U and C motif. On the bottom left is a small double circle. The marks were made with a rounded point, and in some cases a chisel with a narrow cutting edge. Some dispersed marks on the top and the right half of the main face may be natural. On the top face of the stone there is an anti-clockwise spiral with five turns, just off centre. There is a double zigzag and a double circle to the left.
