More model informationA model of Trench 08 (2 x 2m) at Moses Brown School in Providence, RI, excavated by Brown University undergraduate students of ARCH1900: The Archaeology of College Hill. This model shows a an area in the center of the home of A. Albert Sack, a German immigrant to Rhode Island who built the home in 1884 from the profits of his several successful wool mills in the area. The home was demolished in 1939, and the property was incorporated into the grounds of Moses Brown School. The site has been under excavation since 2015 by the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World. This model highlights the high density of material culture (wall rubble, brick, asphalt, slate tile, and soil) used as fill after the demolition of the home.
