More model informationThis model was created at the end of the 2016 excavation season at the Ness of Brodgar, Orkney, Scotland. The occupation deposts in Structure 14 have been largely removed and the shallow slots indicate the former location of stone furniture removed during the life of the building.
The 1.6m deep hole at the top of the structure has been excavated to natural geology (a pale glacial clay). This hole revealed the wall of a building that predates structure 14 and a sequence of midden deposits. We still have a lot of digging to reveal the full story of the Ness of Brodgar!
