Fairater is a salamander, axolotl, and thermace fish combination that live near hydrothermal vents. Their mucles help with left-to-right swimming with limited vertical mobility. Fairaters have a reminisce of nostrils but have evolved to breathe through their four feather like external gills. This gill crown adds to camoflague with the riftia tubes in the environment and grows with the Fairaters age. Their tongues are thick and fixed on the bottom of their mouths. To communicate, the fairaters use the bubbles from the vents like axolotls and gulp water to ‘squeak’. They have soft teeth that grip food to swallow worms, shrimps, and bacteria mats pieces whole. Their four squared, clawless fingers aid in walking along the seafloor for worms and gripping onto rocks.
