Orthostat 48, Knowth Eastern Tomb (Photo)3D ModelNoAI
This is a 3D model of the decorated stone Orthostat 48 located in the Megalithic passage tomb (site 1) at Knowth, Brú na Bóinne World Heritage Site, Co. Meath, Ireland (ME019-030001-). The orthostat is situated within one of the tomb’s recesses. There are a number of incised motifs on the stone, including a zigzag near the top, and straight lines and an oval near the bottom. There are also “pecked” lozenges and triangles, some boxed arcs opening upwards, and three distinctive quartered lozenges. Like the adjacent Orthostat 47, there are a number of natural hollows on the stone.
