Their shape matches the traditional Brabant rectangular box containing reliefs.The ‘walled garden’ is a typical Malinois devotional object of the same period. It is a kind of domestic altarpiece realized by the nuns and in which are, among others, deposited reliquary sachets and ornaments, as well as polychrome statuettes. These famous ‘Malinois dolls’ are remarkable for their elegance and sweet expression.
