Footprints of Limnopus sp. (BIRUG 22133)3D Model
This is a set of hand (manus) and foot (pes) prints of Limnopus sp. from late Carboniferous rocks in Hamstead, Birmingham, UK. These prints are part of a collection of Carboniferous tracks held by the Lapworth Museum that were discovered in a quarry in Hamstead in 1912. They were formed around 305-310 million years ago, and Limnopus was likely produced by an early amphibian such as Eryops.
This model was produced by University of Birmingham Palaeobiology & Palaeoenvironments undergraduate student Luke Meade using the photogrammetric software Agisoft Photoscan. This work formed part of an undergraduate research project supported by the Palaeontological Association. The model and scientific results were published as as scientific paper in the journal PeerJ.
