More model informationThis Sheela was discovered in a vaulted ground floor chamber of Glanworth Castle by Con Manning, it is now in the care of the OPW (CO033-143). Carved on a large stone which blends to the sheelas form. The head is oval with two large eyes, a triangular nose, mouth and two ears to the back of the head. The neck is thick with the clavicle and shoulders slightly raised. The breasts are small and uneven, The sternum looks like a small heart. Ribs shown. The arms and legs are twisted and hard to determine. It left arm sits over the body and hand touches the vulva. The right arm passes under the thigh. The legs are twisted and speared widely. Not recorded is the anus on the underside of the stone.
