Stereoscopy (from the Greek stereo-: solid, -scope: vision) is all the techniques used to reproduce a perception of relief from two plane images. Stereoscopy is based on the fact that human perception of relief is formed in the brain when it reconstructs a single visual model from the perception of two different flat images coming from each eye. There is, for producing these images, as well as for observing them, a wide variety of means, to the description of which several hundred books have been devoted. The recent designation “3D film” is used out of anglicism and ignorance of the correct terminology: stereoscopic film or stereoscopic film. It is confusing with films created by 3D computer modeling. Some use the acronym 3Ds for stereoscopic relief films. https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/stereoscopic-camera-by-heinrich-ernemann-bae7b4c444b341b282e101596fdf8ea6
