More model information“Simand”l is an expression for a husband who subjugated to his wife. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the word was very common and is derived from the words “male wife” or “she-masculine”.
The fountain from 1996 is made of sandstone and bronze and shows a naked female figure who graciously and with superior holds her hands over her husband. The rolling pin refers to the Simandl fountain in Krems. The fountain was designed by the artist Virgilius Moldovan.
