The South Quire Aisle features fourteen bosses in its c.1340 timber barrel vault depicting an array of Green Men, beasts and grotesques and feature surviving tarces of painted decoration. The label stops in the South Quire Aisle of Rochester Cathedral date to the C19th, other than two over an small doorway in the west wall that are apparently mid-C13th originals. A series of timber grotesque corbels support the barrel vault over the South Quire Aisle of Rochester Cathedral. Several along the south wall have been replaced by plaster replicas at an unknown date, possibly during the tenure of Lewis N. Cottingham c.1829. They depict grimacing male subjects.
