The Archaeological Museum of Cecina, opened in 2003, houses artifacts from a variety of archaeological locations around the Lower Cecina Valley, from prehistory to the end of the Roman Empire. Visitors are led to discover the history of this region, which many centuries ago was the main access to the Etruscan and Roman city of Volterra from the coast.

The visit of the Museum includes the tholos of Casaglia, a monumental Etruscan tumulus tomb of the late 7th century BCE, entirely rebuilt in the garden of the Museum.
