Cataract Superposed Munition PDW

A compact PDW system based on superposed ammunition technology, in which bullets and propellant are stacked end to end in the barrel and fired via electrical impulse. Each ammunition module contains 5 barrels, each containing 25 5x10mm projectiles and firing propellant, for a total of 125 rounds per module. The chassis features a collapisible stock, QD sling mount, and quick-change release for the ammunition module, as well as mounting the battery pack and control circuits that produce the firing impulse. Accessory rails are provided for attachment of optics, lasers, vertical foregrips, and other tactical accessories.

Individual bullets fired by the weapon lack significant muzzle energy compared to contemporary firearms, however due to having no moving parts outside of the bullets themselves the rate of fire is limited only by the user’s ability to control the recoil impulse, allowing the weapon to deliver a saturation of fire at a moment’s notice.
